Quantum sensations : The WAIHH

Trying this out. Came direct from Paris this morning, via FedEx. This French Development is remarkably like a comestible perfume. First impression, is that this is some crazy future food where instead of protein and everything pills, we have something which is nearly like eating air. Promising to be  infinitely more fun, yesterdays mere space food.

It look like a futuristic food dispenser, and have been having fun suggesting to friends and family this is how food technologist think things will go, everything you need for your daily needs packed into this mini molecular canister spray. Or suggesting that this is a hot new illegal drug deliver system. So alien looking is this new food concept, most are baffled enough to at least recognise that these exotic suggestions are not entirely dismissable at first glance.  As with most things concerning food, we’re so tame as a population that we immediately, reflexively, unconsciously think we are dicing with death!

Quantum sensations was developed with designer Philippe Starck, ( which is at once reassuring and suggestive of luxury),  to create a way to deliver powerful olfactive and gustatory sensations with the smallest quantity of liquid with a convenient reloadable spray. David and Philippe call these sensations quantum Sensations with each cartridge of flavor being a quantum.

David Edwards work, which spans the arts and sciences.

Crosses the boundary between food and thought?

Breathing become flavourful. And the missing volume…becomes interesting. The partial hankering continues to play on the mind.  An interesting lingering that does Have you think on, at low thresholds for quite a defends time . quieter than having mint. Don’t replace food as. Is it layered enough? Well, it does having interesting layers. presumably it was thought of in the way that perfume is designed to have different note, high notes hitting you first the middle and the the base which give the over all structure and character. And so possibly this is what is at play, a kind of orchestrated succession of sensations fanning out.

I have played with it delivery. From  right on the tip of the tongue, Like many a fine, not unpleasurable, spokes on the tongue.  in general in the mouth. To  purposefully waiting to inhale and drag it down the lungs. if you gave it to 15 years olds (The packaging recommends not for under 18’s) it might distract them from smoking for a couple of months.. As it has curious effects.on the linings, as it passes down the gullet and pokes and toys with the lungs.

Really something nice to think about, you breathing differently, and shifts in the air.

A little high off the alcohol.

No vapours or mint or gum. or  remember that you’ve got that in your  mouth. So curiously half forget.

Long live the Paris based Artscience Labs, lets have more of this inspire fusions of Arts and science. This is something that if a Tory Government continued any longer nothing of the sort could ever happen in Britain in any near future. And lets hope that this troglodyte British government, that cares nothing for the arts, and one suspects precious little of science  is soon banished.
